who have been bidding wisely in the FotoFest Auction for years.”

Proceeds from Auction ticket and table sales benefit
FotoFest’s year-round Literacy Through Photography
(LTP) in Houston-area public
schools. LTP provides more than a thousand students with
cameras and a curriculum using photography to improve
writing and cognitive skills. Students are asked to photograph
people, places, and events important in their lives, analyze
their pictures, and write about these subjects. "My
students have developed their creativity and ... their
language skills have improved because they are able to
express their feelings through a picture they can relate
to - they go on and on when creating stories and show pride
in their work." Mr. Obed Franco, Thomas Jefferson
Elementary, Houston.
