Social media tools, used wisely, make a difference in your career. Social Media Strategies for Visual Artists: Ideas + Information will outline the importance of positioning your photography and photo-based art within the online environment in a way that not only catches the attention of decision makers you want to attract, but encourages them to reach out with opportunities. A range of industry professionals who actively look for artists and images online will discuss how they use Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and websites to learn about you and your work, followed Alyssa Coppelman conducting “live” online research for the audience and panelists to observe and discuss. Attendees will gain a broad understanding of the importance of building a strong online presence and pointed examples and testimonies about how to utilize “best practices.”

The panel, moderated by Mary Virginia Swanson, includes Debra Klomp Ching, director, Klompching Gallery; Alyssa Coppelman, independent photo editor; and Andy Adams, director and curator, FlakPhoto Projects.
