The FotoFest Meeting Place Portfolio Review is the world's largest, and the longest-running, most international portfolio review program in the United States. The Meeting Place gives artists the opportunity to meet and show their work to top arts professionals from around the world.
The event is truly a “meeting place,” where photographic artists, arts professionals, curators, collectors, and colleagues have the opportunity to network, collaborate, share ideas, and establish life-long connections. The Meeting Place brings together 150 curators, editors, publishers, gallerists, collectors, and photo agencies with over 400 photographic artists from around the world and across the United States.
The reviewers invited to the Meeting Place are some of the most important people in the field of photography. Whether you are looking for practical results for a completed body of work, or feedback on work in progress, the Meeting Place offers you the opportunity to present your portfolio to a wide range of photography decision-makers who can assist in your future career development - an exhibition, purchase of your work, an arts residency, or the publication of your work in a magazine or book.
The Meeting Place consists of three 4-day review sessions, each with different reviewers.
Registration for The International Meeting Place is open to all lens and image-based artists and photographers. Space is limited. There is no charge to submit a registration form - You are charged only after your registration is confirmed.

As FotoFest prepares for the FotoFest Biennial 2022 and the Meeting Place 2022 Portfolio Review for Artists, we want to reiterate our commitment to the health and safety of our participating photographers, Meeting Place reviewers, exhibiting artists, speakers, staff, volunteers and all others in our community who will be joining us in Houston for what we expect to be an important and energizing experience.
To maintain the health and safety of all participants, we ask that Meeting Place 2022 photographers and reviewers be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Masks will be available in the Meeting Place office at the Whitehall Houston Hotel for those who need them, and hand sanitizer will be available in higher-traffic areas of the hotel. FotoFest also requests that all Meeting Place participants help us to maintain an environment of mutual respect and consideration by being mindful of the comfort levels of others when greeting and interacting with each other. If you are in doubt about whether a hug or a handshake is welcomed, please ask!
FotoFest continues to monitor the health and safety protocols issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and will provide important updates to all Meeting Place 2022 participants as the response to COVID-19 continues to shift.
