Flor Garduño: Paths of Life offers a detailed revision and critical analysis of over four decades of work of the internationally known Mexican photographer. The exhibition presents 114 images from the artist’s early years to her most recent production, presented in six distinct chapters. This is Garduño’s first major exhibition in Houston since 1992, and her first in the United States since 2016.
The artist will be in Houston for a range of public programs, including a public conversation between Flor Garduño, FotoFest co-founder Wendy Watriss, and FotoFest executive director Steven Evans at the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston on March 8 at 2:00 PM. FotoFest’s Learning Program is creating a Literacy Through Photography curriculum inspired by the artist’s photographs. Additional programs to be announced soon.
Flor Garduño: Paths of Life/Senderos de vida is organized by El Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes, Mexico City and the artist’s studio in collaboration with FotoFest, Houston. The exhibition was originally curated by Ery Camara for El Museo del Palacio de Bellas Artes.
