Artist Talk and Tour with Throughline

OCTOBER 19, 2024 | 2–3 PM

East Gallery inside Silver Street Studios
2000 Edwards Street, Houston, TX 77007
Tickets required | Free and open to the public

Join FotoFest on Saturday, October 19, from 2 to 3 PM for a moderated panel discussion exploring constructed spaces, identities, and residual histories through performance and photography. Moderated by philosophy professor and program coordinator for Houston Community College, Parish Conkling, artists from Throughline Collective's Troubling the Boundaries exhibition— Beatriz Bellorin, Joy Harris, Heather Johnson, and Alexander Squier—expand on their artistic practices as they relate to serving as witnesses to their specific histories. Following the talk, the artists will tour the exhibition with guests.

This program is part of FotoFest's autumn 2024 exhibition, Artist-run, Artist-organized, featuring three discrete exhibitions by Texas-based artist groups La Mecha Contemporary, Omnigenesis Collective, and Throughline Collective.
