This year’s FotoFest Biennial takes place March 8–April 19, 2020. FotoFest’s central exhibition, lecture, and film programs for the FotoFest Biennial 2020, African Cosmologies: Photography, Time, and the Other, explores artists from the continent and its global diaspora, linking notions of blackness untethered to the specificity of geography or chronology. The exhibition is curated by Mark Sealy, Director of the London-based Autograph ABP, an organization founded in 1988 to support black photographic practices, and dedicated to exploring identity, representation, human rights and social justice. Rather than being broad and encyclopedic, the exhibition will focus on themes of liberty, rights, and representation. A wide range of photographic and moving image media will be included.

In addition to the African Cosmologies exhibition and programs, FotoFest presents many other programs, including its acclaimed Meeting Place Portfolio Review for artists, Professional Development Seminars, a Fine Print Auction, Artist Talks, Films, and more. Nearly every event is free and open to the public. These listings contain links to more information and ticket links when needed.
