Classroom-based teaching residencies with artists and photographers trained specifically to teach the LTP curriculum. These FotoFest teaching artists will support your classroom and curricular goals by engaging students in project-based, creative learning through photography, creative writing, and media literacy.
Our After-School Artist Residencies offers exciting hands-on instruction, teaching photography and writing skills in a fun environment that challenges students to be creative, to be critical observers of their own experiences, and to tell their stories through imagery and personal narrative.
LTP workshops culminate in the public exhibition of student work in our annual FotoFinish showcase of student art. The LTP after-school programs build student self-esteem, critical thinking, and written and verbal expression. Workshops can be customized to meet the learning needs of your students.
We can partner with interested schools in submitting an application to the Harris County Department of Education's CASE (Center for Afterschool, Summer, and Expanded Learning) program to potentially fund an after-school program at your campus. This application is typically due in February of each spring or September of each fall and requires a formal proposal.
Literacy Through Photography can be incorporated into your classroom and campus in many ways, benefitting your teaching practice and your students. Attend Teacher Training and use the curriculum in your classroom. Literacy Through Photography is an approved CPE Provider for the State of Texas.
Classroom educators who have already been through LTP training are eligible to renew their partnership annually, guaranteeing a spot for students to display their final LTP projects as part of that year's FotoFinish exhibition. The cost for renewal is only $50/educator and entitles the educator to the following benefits:
