The FotoFest Meeting Place Portfolio Review is the world's largest, and the longest-running, most international portfolio review program in the United States.

The International Meeting Place Portfolio Review for Artists is an integral part of the FotoFest Biennial.


It gives artists the opportunity to meet and show their work to top arts professionals from around the world. The event is truly a “meeting place”, where photographic artists, arts professionals, curators, collectors, and colleagues have the opportunity to network, collaborate, share ideas, and establish life-long connections.

The Meeting Place brings together 150 curators, editors, publishers, gallerists, collectors, and photo agencies with over 450 photographic artists from around the world and across the United States. 

 

REVIEWERS

The reviewers invited to the Meeting Place are some of the most important people in the field of photography. Whether you are looking for practical results for a completed body of work, or feedback on work in progress, the Meeting Place offers you the opportunity to present your portfolio to a wide range of photography decision-makers who can assist in your future career development - an exhibition, purchase of your work, an arts residency, or the publication of your work in a magazine or book.

The Meeting Place consists of three 4-day review sessions, each with different reviewers.

Session 1: March 8 - 11, 2020
Session 2: March 13 - 16, 2020
Session 3: March 18 - 21, 2020

Registration for The International Meeting Place is open to all lens and image-based artists and photographers. Space is limited. Registration is ONLINE ONLY. There is no charge to submit a registration form - You are charged only after your registration is confirmed.

DETAILS

All Meeting Place Registrants Receive:
  • Minimum of four (4) one-on-one, 20-minute long formal review appointments per day
  • Inclusion in the digital Meeting Place Registrant Index, supplied to all reviewers for each session. All participating artists are represented with an image of their work and contact information
  • Networking opportunities with fellow artists
  • Complimentary first-come first-served transportation to FotoFest Biennial exhibitions and other exhibitions around Houston during the evening after the reviews
4-Day Session Meeting Place Registrants Also Receive:
  • Reserved space in Unfiltered: Portfolio Walk, an opportunity to show your portfolio to the general public, other reviewers, and collectors

The Meeting Place takes place at the Whitehall Houston Hotel, the FotoFest Biennial 2020 Headquarters Hotel in Downtown Houston.
